It's time to make a cheese ball! I know what you're thinking. This is not something that I'm interested in, but I guarantee you that you will be pleasantly surprised.
This recipe is a favorite of my family. They absolutely love the amount of flavor that this simple little dish provides. First off it's cheese! Who doesn't love cheese? Well I'm sure the lactose intolerant won't...but any whoo. Second it's packed with fresh herbs! All of those natural herb oils lending their flavor to the cheese. I have purchased a few cheese balls from the market before, but to be honest something about being fresh just really makes all the difference.
I make this only one time a year. Usually around the holidays since this is the time that i'm most busy entertaining and having parties. I paired it with a lovely bottle of Chianti and that really just brought out the herbal and floral aromas of the cheese ball.
Below are all the ingredients you will need.
I have made this all with fresh herbs, but if you are in an area where you can only get dried, then substitute, it sill turn out perfectly okay.
If you have the opportunity to find some tasty crackers or specialty toast, I would recommend getting the kind that have sesame seeds as that little bit of smokey flavor just adds a kick. I purchased some specialty toast things from whole foods that happened to find when I was making my rounds through the store.
