A little taste of France
Hi everyone! Today I have a little something that I have been whipping up for years and I occasionally (very occasionally) make this for my family (guess this was their lucky day).
I don't make this as often because it is very decedent. The fat content is pretty high and the sugar count if out of this world, BUT...for special occasions (such as Christmas breakfast), I like to live on the edge.
Most of French Toast recipes really don't add much to them but some cinnamon, vanilla and sugar, but for this you will be adding an orange spin on things. I hope you try this and share your thoughts on this here in the comments section. In place of the vanilla we will add in Grand Marnier. This is will is an orange flavored liqueur that will help to pull out that wonderful orange flavor.
Just a tip...French toast is best made with bread that is going stale, but not yet. This means that the moisture of the bread is now leaving it and will be able to absorb some of the egg mixture, but not be a soggy mess.
